YTL Residence Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
The Agence Jouin Manku designed this 32,000-square-foot residence for 3 generations of a prominent Chinese-Malaysian family in Kuala Lumpur. This is a truly amazing architectural jewel. See pictures of the house at http://www.patrickjouin.com/site/index.php?page=projets_jm

Fortitude & Planet Wild West - same location different outcome
This picture was taken in the Arches National Park in Utah earlier this year. I liked the silhouette of the tree against the sky and squeezed in between the gigantic rocks. For me it was a symbol perseverance and stength. Trees in this arid climate have to be fighters to survive and this one visibly claimed its spot.
My spouse Elke is an artist too and she had her own take. She created a new planet " Planet Wild West". This is a great example of interpretation of the same space by different artists at the same time with a unique result.

Statue of Liberty
In February 2007 my spouse and I chartered a helicopter for a flight over New York City. The skies were clear and it was a very beautiful but bitter cold day. The shot was taken out of the small window that we could open to get better shots. This picture carries a particular significance for me, being a legal alien in the US. All our lifes we have seen the Statue of Liberty standing at the Hudson and greeting us on the other side of the Ocean, holding some much promise and hope for a new start on another continent. She also appeared almost as a guard, especially during the more than 4 years while we were waiting for the final approval of our permanent residence. Today our perspective has changed, our kids go here to school and we became a part of our local community. It us now, behind the Statue of Liberty, that look out to the old world that we left for good.
